When to move baby to the crib?

My baby will be 5 weeks tomorrow and my husband is adamant that we should move our daughter to her crib.  She is a noisy sleeper and since my husband is the only one working right now I am mostly getting up with her. However, I wind up walking back and forth from the nursery where I feed her to our bedroom and it makes for a long night. Also, I think he selfishly wants our alone time back and also she winds up waking him up all the time when he has to work an extremely long day. Part of me feels like it might be worth trying but the other part is worried! When did you all transition your babies to the crib?

Also I am open to hearing what worked for you moms and any advice you have for the transition!

I moved my son to his crib at 4 days. Nobody was getting any sleep and it turned out moving him was the best thing for all of us! He slept much better and so did we! Try it for a few nights and see how it goes

My husband wanted the same thing but I wasn't comfortable putting our daughter in another room at her beginning stages. She was getting up every 2-3 hours and I would pull her from the bassinet and take her to the nursery and feed her, bring her back and put her right next to me.

If you do not want to move the baby at this point don't! Personally I wouldn't. If he wants alone time, he is sadly mistaken bc that time is over now for a while. I moved the baby to the crib at 4 months bc I felt more comfortable and she was getting too big for her bassinet. It was a hard transition but it has gotten significantly better. Long and short of it, if you want her close keep her there. This is only temporary. I needed her close so I could hear her breathe and you have the rest of your life to catch up on sleep.

I moved my first daughter into her crib in her room at 3 weeks only because she wouldn't sleep in the bassinet. The only way she would sleep was in her boppy pillow. I know some people don't agree with that but we did what worked. First night she slept in it in her crib she slept 5 hours! The longest she had ever slept. Of course I was up constantly checking on her but that part gets easier. She slept in her boppy until she was too big for it. It was nice eventually for us to have our space and her to have hers especially the bigger she got. My second daughter though is still in her rock and play and she's 7 weeks lol She still wakes up a lot and for right now it's just easier and she isn't waking up my oldest. I am thinking about trying her crib soon though

My daughter has been in her crib since her first night home. She was sick last week and wanted to sleep on me all day so she did instead of in her crib. At night I put her in the bassinet part of the pack n play next to our bed. I put her back in her crib tonight and so far so good :)

Thanks ladies. I wanted to get her to sleep in her crib before I return to work. She will be 4 months. I think I am going to try naps first and work from there!

Once he starts sleeping through the night I'll put him in his room. Now he's in a co sleeper attached to our bed.

Currently, she's sleeping in her bassinet in our room, but once she's sleeping through the night, we'll move her to her room and hee crib. She naps in her crib though, so atleast she'll be used to it.

I moved our daughter to her crib at 4 weeks. When she wakes up I feed her in the living room with a small light only. Then I take her to her bed to sleep and then go to mine.

We moved our daughter into her too at 12 weeks. I started with naps in her room and then I moved her into her room after about a week. (But I got a little cot and slept in her room with her for the first week...... I know I'm a sucker!) but she is 4 months now and has been sleeping through the night for about 3 weeks.

My dd is 12 weeks and is still in the bassinet. She is going to outgrow it soon. We have tried naps in the crib and they don't last long. I suggest you try naps and see how it goes.
