Have you been to China?

Fiancé and I have been obsessed with traveling. This year is Europe, next year we are thinking about visiting China with our daughter (she’ll be 4 then). How was your trip? Any tips? We mainly want to see the Great Wall.

Went to Hong Kong last summer and loved it! Just don’t go in June, it rains nonstop :) 
There were plenty of signs in English for us and had no trouble getting around. 
Take your own maps/travel books and buy a cheap power adapter before heading over there. Children in China’s big cities are very well behaved and dressed nicely, honestly I’ve never seen cuter kids clothes, be sure your little one is respectful when exploring, noticed a few parents visiting from other places getting “the look” when their kids misbehaved. We used the subway/trains and bought an Octopus card after arriving, was best way to get around for us.

Another great place is Dubai, stay at the Atlantis, saw tons of parents there with young kids and everyone seemed to have a ton of fun.

There’s a lot of malls there, I’m not a big shopper but was fun to explore and felt very safe and people were friendly.

It was aight. I’ve mainly gone to shanghai to visit my husbands family, which is super far away from the wall, but we did go to the wall once. If you go to the wall I suggest staying in gubeikou it’s a very small town outside of Beijing and it’s walking distance to the least crowded part of the wall. We really liked it there. The renovated parts of the wall get crazy crowded especially in tourist seasons so we liked that it was quieter and also that it was older and looked more like ruins.
