Classes??

Question

Did you or are you taking a class? I’m due middle of May and it’s such a busy time for my husband at work and me at the school I work at and don’t know if we will be able to fit it into our schedules. Did you find it helpful?

Do a birth class at your hospital so you know what they offer and do in all cases.
Breastfeeding: if you chose to breastfeed, a class can educate but I think it is more important to have a support group after birth (hospitals usually have free ones or search for a le leche group).
Take a tour of your hospital so you are familiar and calm when you go into labor. They are free.

I didn’t take any classes and we’re on #3 now. I did go on Pinterest just for some ideas of what to expect or how to help me through it all. There was no way my husband was going to the classes. He’s impossible sometimes.

We are in week 3 of our 5 week class block. It's our first baby but I've had a lot of hands on experience with my 3 nephews where as my partner has never been around babies I only did the class for him.  TBH I am finding them a waste of time not saying that I no everything but the basics are really all that covered so far at least. My partner is enjoying them though so we will finish out the course.

We did. We took ours early because my hubby is an accountant and we knew it would be insane if we waited til now. But we did Bradley and most midwives say its the most efficient one. We enjoyed it alot. We also didnt go through the hospital even though it was free because the hospital teaches you how to be a gold patient more than what you can do to get through your birth. Were doing a homebirth so there will be no pain intervention and this class prepared us for that it was totally worth it. I use all the exercises that our teacher gave to prepare us for labor I use alot of the products she recommended and she even gave us help with recipes that are healthy snack options. She explained birth in a way that didnt make my husband uncomfortable and hes excited for that part now.

In my country classes are fully funded and recommend to all new parents. They cover pregnancy, labour and new born care. They are really worthwhile. 
I think the vault would really depend on the content they are teaching and if it’s fit for purpose.
