Signs of spider bite?

My 6 week old was laying in the floor on her play mat when all of a sudden she screamed so I picked her up and noticed a spider beside the mat. I undressed her and looked her over and didn’t see anything and she hadn’t cried anymore but I’m still freaking out a little. What are signs I should look for if she had gotten bit? I have no idea what kind of spider it was..

Very unlikely that the spider would be anything dangerous and if it was you would know by now

It would be a little white spot about the size of a pin head with a bright red circle around it. Usually it swells a little so it would feel puffy or swollen. She may have been crying because of gas or something unrelated, so if you don’t see a bite I wouldn’t worry too much

I bet it was harmless, like a scream (mom pick me up) or a gas pain. I'm sure baby is done

I've been bitten by many spiders, some poisonous and some not, the area of the bite will be red and swollen and can continue swelling for an hour or so. If it's poisonous, depending on what it is, you'll get a fever and vomiting and some cause the skin around the bite area to turn into an open wound. I'm in Australia so I can't say what to expect from American spiders but I assume it'll be similar.

I’m not sure, but the same exact thing happened to me and I totally freaked. My baby was not bit, and I checked her vet multiple times. Still super scary!

I’ve always heard you don’t actually feel a spider bite when it happens, but I’ve never tested that theory. So it may not have been related!
