Feeding question

Olivia

So tonight we are going out to dinner for my grandmas birthday. I like to keep my daughter on her routine as best as possible , she’s use to getting ready for bed by putting pajamas on, reading a book, bottle and then bed (on bath nights we do bath instead of bed) so tonight since we will be out, I don’t think we will be home before her bedtime bottle, which will throw her off if we come home and don’t feed her before bed since she’s use to having a bottle before bed. So..should I feed her like half the amount she normally gets early to hold her over till we get home then when we get home I will give her like 2 ounces less than normal or should I try to hold her 4:00 bottle off till 5 (which don’t know if she will do that) that way she will be ready to eat again by the time we get home?

I’m curious about the timing of dinner and bedtime. Like if we’re out to dinner, our son will typically fall asleep in the car on the way home and we put him straight to bed. So if your LO is coming with you to dinner and her bedtime occurs while you’re out, perhaps you could do jammies before you leave for dinner, then give her her bottle at the restaurant at the usual time, then bed as soon as you get home? Apologies if I missed any of the details you specified.. little dude had me up 6x last night. 😅

I think so too! If she’s willing, it shouldn’t be a problem since it’s ultimately the same amount anyway! I hope it works!! ☺️

Well the only thing is if I give her a portion of her bottle before we leave she will be eating in a hour and a half (she usually goes 3 hours in between feedings) so I will have to feed her a hour and a half early...I just don’t want her to be to full either. But I think that might be our best option 🤷‍♀️

Almost every night his bedtime bottle is off for us. I’ve just been letting him nurse or I’ll give him a bottle with a few oz in it since he’s not really hungry. We keep the rest of the routine the same. Sometimes he might wake up in the middle of the night to eat again but usually he sleeps all night. Try to push the feed back as far as you can. That usually helps us. You can even give it right before you leave to come home and if she sleeps in the car, just pull her out and lay her down when you get home. We have crazy schedules so we’ve done this quite a bit.
