My 2.5 year old pulling her hair out😭

Within the last couple months my daughter started to pull her hair out. She has always been a hair twirler when she’s falling asleep but recently she’s been twirling it until it becomes knotted and then rips her finger through it leaving bald spots on her scalp:( things I’ve tried are dolls with long hair in her bed, telling her not to,cutting her hair mits. I don’t know what else to do. I’m not sure what I’m looking for , advice? Someone whose been through this with their child?
