Cytotec?

I'm not sure on spelling, but my doctor says I will be using cytotec to induce my labor since I'm allergic to cervadil. Has anyone in this group used it either now or with a previous pregnancy? I'm nervous. I Googled it for spelling and got a lot of scary results.

I asked a similar question a few days ago and remember you responding that you’re allergic to cervidil. I spoke with my doctor since then and they are going to use Cytotec. I researched it and I’m worried about it now. I trust my doctor and I feel like even with all the negative I’ve read if it were as bad as people are are saying we would hear about it all the time because lots of women are induced. I’m not sure what I want to do yet. I’m going to talk it over with my dr. When I mentioned cervidil she said it can have the same effects as Cytotec, but why is one fda approved and the other not then?

BOTH are NOT FDA approved for use during labor and BOTH come with high and scary risks to you and baby. Refuse it. Even the manufacturing company has made public statements that it should not be used on pregnant women.

They tried both with me, then a foley bulb. Neither one got me more than 1-2cm over a day. The Foley bulb is where the action really started

I used Cytotec when I miscarried about 5 years ago & my body wouldn’t pass everything on its own. Are those the results you’re seeing a lot of? I’m sure it’s much different when used for L&D.
