I want to be financially (& overall) independent. HELP!

I hate asking my SO for money but he says if I worked it would all have to go to daycare anyways. We have an 11 month old & I'm 22 weeks pregnant. 😞 He said he'll just work more and give me an allowance but thats sounds so shitty and I know I'll need his help with the kids! 😟 I hate being so dependent on him.
