34+4 and breech...what are the odds?

Katie
This is my first pregnancy, and at my prenatal appt today I got a u/s because Bub was measuring big. Turns out she was because she's breech, hardcore. The tech said I have a lot of fluid, so she has room to move, but my doctor basically said in two weeks at my next appt I'll have two choices: do a version or schedule a C-section for 39 weeks. Again, I have zero experience with birth but I have heard just horror stories about recovering from a C section (including someone passing away from a blood clot...?!) and I'm freaking out...so I'm basically just wondering: any mamas out there have a late breecher who flipped and were able to avoid surgery? Or should I just brace myself emotionally for surgery? I appreciate any tips for getting her to turn if you got 'em!
Thanks!
