Inappropriately touching a child (trigger warning)

My niece has said someone very close to me as inappropriately touched her in the past. My brother and his ex have filed a report with police and my niece had a meeting with child services yesterday afterwards the lady she saw called me because the man she is accusing my boyfriend and we have a one year old.

The lady said they’re still early into the investigation but as far as I know they haven’t talked to my boyfriend. Wouldn’t he be the first one they talk to?

Does anyone know how the process goes? Please no hate. This situation is very stressful as it is.
