Low lying placenta?

Question

I went for my 20 week anatomy scan and the doctor said I have a low lying placenta and that it is partially blocking my cervix. She said it should move away on its own and she would have the high risk doctor look at the ultrasound too. My doctor said we will set another scan at 28 weeks to check on it and wait to hear what the high risk doc says. Should I be concerned?

I had that with my first pregnancy and stressed about it because my dr said I’d have to have a c-section if it didn’t move. She assured me it’d likely move but I’m a worrier. By my next scan it had moved and wasn’t a problem at all.

I have the same. But mine is completely blocking. Just means I get to have more ultrasounds to see my baby. Only thing was that I was told no sex and eventually could possibly be put on bed rest. But worst case scenario have to get a csection.  They said there is good chance that’ll fix itself though so I’m still hoping for good news at the next scan!

I have that too, but mine is completely blocking. My dr isn’t checking again until 30 weeks and I’ve been given restrictions on what I can and can’t do.

At 15 weeks I went in because I had some bleeding. Found out I had a low lying placenta. Had my 20 week ultrasound yesterday and it moved to 3cm above my cervix so I'm in the clear. 95% of the time it will move far enough away on it's own. If not, you'll most likely be on pelvic rest with no exercise and will need an early c section. It sucks but as long as you take it easy its nothing to be overly concerned about.
