Weird bleeding??

Any advice ladies? I'm 39, had a baby in Nov and my periods returned in Dec. I stopped bf about a month ago due to meds I had to take but had been cutting back due to illness prior. For the last 5 days I've had really weird bleeding and can't work out what's going on. It's not a normal period and has been more spotting than anything, but for 5 days?! My period isn't due for 3 more days. My boobs r hurting too. Took a pg test this morning and maybe a faint line but looks more negative. Im lost! Anyone else have similar happen to them? Hope you can help! Thanks x
