Is 14 too young to have sex? I lost my virginity when I was 14 and still terrified to this day to tell my parents I’m thinking about waiting till I’m 16 to tell them. I need some parent opinions!!!

It’s definitely young. However, that’s how young I was. Thanks to the good man above, I am still with the amazing man I lost my virginity to and I now call him my husband. It’s definitely embarrassing to admit it. Most of the time when people ask I tell them we waited until we were 16. It’s not something I’m proud of. However, you should start seeing the gynecologist once you’re sexually active. Just lie to your mom and tell her that you just recently lost it so you can start seeing a doctor.

Personally I wasnt ready at 14. I would also be pretty disappointed in my daughter If she started having sex at 14.  Shes close to your age and I understand puberty brings sexual desire and we have talked about it, but I have encouraged her to focus on growing up, becoming a well rounded woman before she starts to add the drama and responsibility of dating and sex ... I also have educated her fully on her body and encouraged self exploration in private.  I'm not a total ass, and I do acknowledge that she will feel arousal at some point . There is relief to be obtained without having sex ! I waited until I was 18 and I am so glad I did.  I truly hopes she does the same ...

I’m 23 now. And I was 13. Yes it’s very young. But everyone feels ready at different times. I was mature enough and ready enough that it was never something that bothered me. I knew what sex was, i often masturbated so I knew what it meant to have an orgasm. I watched porn. Sex intrigued me very much. I lost my virginity to someone who was 16. I knew him all my life, and we dated for four years. I’ve never let anyone make me feel bad for losing my virginity so young, because I knew in myself that I was ready. As long as you’re mature about it, it’s fine. As for telling your mom, only tell her if you’re comfortable. But if you’re uncomfortable, maybe you weren’t ready. That’s what I’ve always heard. If it’s something you felt uncomfortable talking about, maybe it wasn’t the right time.

Too young, and at that age no man is capable of really pleasing you anyway trust me! BUT if it were me I’d be happy my daughter talked to me- especially if she wanted birth control or condoms. I’d only be angry if she came to me after she already got pregnant from irresponsibly having sex.
