Induce?

I am 39 weeks and show no signs of baby coming soon (only that my cervix is softening, no dilation). My doctor said maybe he could help things along at my next appointment by using the balloon and seeing if anything changed. It seems a little rushed to me, but I want to trust my doctor. I want my body to naturally go into labor, but I also don’t want to wait too long and have to have a c-section. This is our first baby. Any thoughts or opinions?

Trust YOURSELF and your gut. If you feel it’s too early, then it is. I went to 41 with my second. Sometimes they just need a little more time, and our due dates are such a guess anyways. Babies rarely need the exact 40. Some need less and some need more 😀

If my doctor asks to induce me for any other reason than medically necessary I’ll say no. I wanna go into labor naturally even if that means waiting an extra week!

Hmm I wouldn’t do the balloon. I did some reading today on the membrane sweep. It seems like a pretty safe procedure so I think if I make it to 40 weeks I’ll ask mine to do that. Maybe you could ask them about that instead?

I would wait. I’m being induced Sunday at 39 weeks but it is because I’m 41. If I were 34 or younger I would be waiting it out. It seems as though your intuition may be telling you to wait mama!

If you wanna wait then wait. But if you trust your doctors opinion then 🤷🏼‍♀️ in the end it’s ultimately YOUR choice.

I wasnt induced until 8 days after due date. You should have plenty of time don’t let doctor rush you

I’m a bit nervous to induce because I’ve heard it makes the labor so much more painful. I guess I’ll see if anything has changed by Friday (my next appt).
