Daycare- Infant Room
My daughter’s daycare has been great, but for some reason they are keeping her in the infant/baby room. It’s supposed to be when they turn around a year old, that they go to a toddler room. The toddler room has little potties for potty training, more enriched activities, etc. My daughter is tiny, so I thought maybe they were keeping her in there a little extra because of that. Since she just turned 1.5, I asked when she would be going over to the other room, and they said not until September!! My daughter will already be 2 before she gets to go over there with kids her age and older. I asked why, and they could not give me a good reason. They said while she is the oldest in the infant room, there are a couple more toddlers around her age in there still too.
I’m not happy about this, because we are beginning potty training soon and I want her to be able to learn more. I feel like the baby room is very limited for her current age and development. How is she supposed to grow her vocabulary if she’s surrounded by babbling or nonverbal babies? I’m speaking with the owner about it Monday, but I’m wondering I should switch daycares if they don’t switch her over. (Especially without a good reason!)
Am I crazy for thinking this? 😩
