So I went to the doctor a few days ago and I had asked him about getting birth control and he had basically just dismissed my question until my mom had asked about it for me. I’m 18, I have had the same doctor since I was born and before that he was my moms doctor. He’s a really nice person and a really good doctor, but he had basically told me no he won’t give me a prescription for bc. He told me to “just use condoms, they’re more effective anyways”. But I don’t just want it to prevent me getting pregnant. I want it bc my periods are irregular sometimes, I get really bad cramps, and I have acne. And since I have kind of irregular periods, sometimes I get a little stressed because I haven’t got my period in a while and think I’m pregnant. I’m just frustrated that he told me he wouldn’t prescribe it for me? I mean He didn’t even give me a reason as to why he wouldn’t. If he had given me a reason and said we could talk about it again at a later point then I’d be like okay yeah sure, but he didn’t. All he said was “just use condoms”.
