Question

Anyone diagnosed or been told they have I sufficient glandular tissue? My LC told me this and then told me that I would never be able to make enough for my baby when he was 2 days old. She ruined me when she said that so I haven’t tried to breastfeed as much as I was planning on. Just feeling really depressed about it

Insufficient Glandular Tissue is very much s thing and is a reason why some women are unable to EBF, however, your LC would not be able to diagnose this on dat two PP: and secondly (most importantly), breastfeeding is about way more than nutrition, it’s a relationship, a unique bond; even if you are unable to EBF you can DEFINITELY breastfeed to some extent and give your baby THE BEST start. Ignore the LC, she sounds like an idiot, get your boob out and feed that little one, look into their eyes and enjoy every second of that connection (if you have to supplement so what? Do it. But you CAN have a breastfeeding relationship too if you want it).

You can take goats rue to increase the tissue. Breast size and the amount of tissue are not actually related. Breast size does not affect milk production, but glands do. You would loudly have to nurse more frequently than other moms, but you can still breastfeed

That’s bullshit. No matter the size of a woman’s breasts she can breastfeed most of the time. The fact that she told you “never” is absolutely ridiculous. She should have at least encouraged you to try, even if you had to supplement with formula or donor milk. Smh
