Baby girl born early at 35w2d
Hello everyone! I just gave birth 5 days ago to a beautiful little girl via induction. I was induced due to severe preeclampsia. She was born at 4 pounds, 10 ounces, 17 inches. She had an APGAR score of 9/9, and didn't need any assistance with oxygen and is very healthy. She latched on a bottle the first 2 days but they switched her to the feeding tube so she could be more comfortable with breast feeding. We were discharged yesterday but baby girl is in day 5 in NICU. She has IV since the day she was born, but nurses say depending how she is today, they're planning on removing it later tonight. She's been under the phototherapy light for 3 days now, but other than that, they say she's very healthy. Hoping her bilirubin goes down. Her next step would to be able to bottle feed or latch for at least 24-48 hours and hopefully they'll release her to go home at that time. It's been hard to go home without her, but I know she's getting great care here at the NICU. I find so much comfort reading everyone's stories and just want to say thank you for sharing. 😉 our baby's are so strong!
