Birth Control Bleeding?
So, I just started taking birth control about two weeks ago to alleviate my PCOS symptoms. I was instructed to take it on the first day of my period, but when you have irregular periods that are weeks late and mine didn’t show up for a while, I decided to just jump the gun and start taking the pill to help regulate them. I know that breakthrough bleeding can occur for the first three months or so, but I’m still on the active pills (week 2) and I’m now experiencing what I would pretty much call a regular period. I started bleeding this morning, accompanied by the regular cramps and bloating that I’m used to. Has anyone else experienced this? I thought the bleeding wasn’t supposed to happen until the fourth week of inactive pills, but here I am bleeding on week three and I’m suddenly very anxious about it. I would appreciate any input on your experience starting birth control (ex. What symptoms you had, when you started bleeding, how long it took to stop, etc.) as I’m really new to this whole thing and don’t know much about what’s going on... 😅
(Also, I’m on the combination pill, if that matters at all)
