Period a week early?

According to this app my period isn't for another 6 days. I just used the bathroom and I got some blood like my period is coming. I know I'm not pregnant because I haven't had sex in almost 3 months. What causes a period to come early?

Hormones.
We aren't machines. Sometimes our hormones are not the same month to month. This month something caused them to be different.  Could be a whole slew of things. No way to guess without extensive medical testing.. which I doubt a doctor would do over one irregular period anyway...
Basically- it just happens sometimes.

The app isn't 100% accurate, so unless it starts happening for a few cycles in a row, I wouldn't even worry.

You may have irregularities in your periods, at least that is what my periods are. One month, 4 weeks, the next 5 weeks, the next 3 weeks. One time my period was 7 weeks late and I’m not sexually active.
