Back pain/labor??

Question

Moms!! Can someone explain the difference in feeling regular pregnancy back pain and labor back pain? 36 weeka and I have barely had back pain my whole pregnancy but I woke up this morning with fairly painful low back pain.

back labor is no joke, I thought it was worse than regular labor

Back labor start as a constant ache for me and then increased over night while the belly tightening started.  I had no idea I was in labor but I went to the hospital because I was leaking amniotic fluid.  They hooked me up to the monitors for an hour and were like “ you’re contracting every 2-3 minutes, can’t you feel that?”  
That was just early labor though.  A few hours later, it got to the point that I was very obviously in labor despite it feeling different than regular labor.
