Never in the mood and sex hurts

So I'm never in the mood for sex and whenever my fiancé and I have sex, it hurts. I thought it might be my birth control (NuvaRing) but then again I wonder if it's just me being past that "honeymoon phase" since we've been together for 3 years. We use sex toys and everything and try to get into the mood, but even when I do get in the mood and  orgasm, it still hurts. I've asked my doctor about it but whatever she tells me doesn't seem to help. Anyone else have this problem?
