My boyfriend’s 30th bday is coming up this week. He’s been struggling financially for a few months now. I’ve been helping him as much as I could, with money for food, & transportation to & from work. However, 3 weeks ago I left my job. I was having issues with someone & just had to leave before things got worse. I have another job, but I obviously am not making as much money as I was with both jobs.

However, although I only have one job right now, I’m still helping him as much as i can. My bday just passed & I didn’t ask him for anything. I let him get me whatever he wanted. I would have been happy if he did or didn’t get me anything because I know his situation. Yesterday, he asked me if I was getting him a gift, & I said no not right now. I just felt like he was being a little inconsiderate because he knows my situation. Do you think I should talk to him about this? It bothered me, but I don’t want to make it a big deal. Do you think it’s worth bringing it up to him?

He asked me for a $300 speaker by the way.
