When did your babies start holding their own bottle?

Trying to see if my baby is a bit behind on this, he’s 7 months right now.

Not to upset anyone but your baby really should not be holding their own bottle.  Babies Need to be fed by a responsible adult to ensure that they are consuming the right amount and to prevent chewing on the nipple/potential tooth problems. A lot of people don’t think about their children’s teeth until they are old enough to go to the dentist but a huge cause of childhood cavities is improper bottle feeding in infant hood.  
If your baby is sitting in a chair bc they are old enough to eat, you should probably think about a sippy cup to help them transition to self feeding.

Your baby isn’t behind. Not all babies hold their bottles. Some of them are content with someone else holding it. My 10 month old has no desire to hold her bottle because she only gets them 2 days a week

Never. He was not about to take on that responsibility lol. He would get so so angry anytime we tried to prop or get him to hold the bottle. It’s not a developmental milestone so I wouldn’t worry about it.

My son just turned six months and can hold his own bottle, but we don’t really let him. I’m always nervous about him taking in air when he sucks and there isn’t milk in the nipple.

My baby was capable of holder her bottle around 4 months but she didn’t actively do it on her own until after 6 or so months. I clicked the four months but considering your situation I wanted to explain since just because they can doesn’t mean they do! Your baby is probably totally fine, and enjoys that time with you doing it for them!

I think around seven months was when she could successfully hold her bottle for an entire meal. She is a very independent child though and doesn’t want anyone’s help most of the time. 🤦🏻‍♀️

My son is 5 months. He ha put his hands on the bottle for a long time. Heck he used to put his hands on my boobs when I breast fed him. But he’s not nearly strong enough to actually hold it!

My daughter refused to hold her own bottle until 9 months. It’s nothing to worry about. I started holding her hands on the bottle while I head it too.. sooner or later she just kept her hands on it while I let go.
