Ok, so I'm 16...I have about 10 people I've had sex with 😕 Yeah....I know....I was just wondering, how many guys does a girl have to hook up with to be considered a slut??? It's gotten to the point where I'm completely disgusted with myself, but know I will still have sex.........Why??? Why can't I just stop or say no?! Am I an addict or something??? I have a bunch of mental health problems that my therapist said that causes me to be promiscuous....but that's not really an excuse.....I was also raped at the age of 14....but....idk man...my reputation is getting worse and I feel so completely and utterly disgusted.....THOUGHTS??

You're expressing your sexuality, and that's OKAY!!!  You shouldn't be embarrassed by that.  Other people may "slut-shame" you, but that's because society is conditioned to do that to women who enjoy sex.  And that's crap.  Seriously.  You do you, boo boo.  👍

No matter how many people you have sex with you are not a slut. That word should never be used to describe a female who enjoys sex. Men who have the same body counts are praised for their numbers but women are shamed. Do not feel insecure just because you enjoy having sex as much, if not more than others. As long as you are being safe and careful don't worry. However if having sex with multiple partners is lowering your self esteem or how you feel about yourself than I would continue therapy and try to find the deeper root of your feelings.

You are NOT a slut! Don't let anyone tell you that you are either. Remember as women we have charge over our own bodies and we can do as we choose with them. I am 26 and have had over 20 partners. It's no one's business but mine and it's ok because I am ok with it. At your age though I would be really careful. Diseases and pregnancy will end up effecting you for a lifetime.

I'm 21 and I have had four partners. Out of the 4, I dated 3 of them. I'm going to be brutally honest here. When I was in high school, yes, girls were considered sluts for having 10+ partners, no matter what age you were. Don't let the word get to you, though. If you're having safe sex, you're in the clear. If youre having sex with partners who are single like you are, you're in the clear. There's nothing wrong with enjoying sex and sleeping around unless it's for reasons other than your own pleasure, like say, low self esteem or attention. I don't really like the word. But I'd be lying if I said I haven't used it before. The word means something different to everyone, and some don't even use it anymore because of the feminism movement. If you feel disgusted with yourself, ask yourself this: is it because it's not what you want, or is it because you're afraid of what others say about you? Since I'm outside of HS, it doesn't bother me how many people I sleep with. But, I'm the type whose uncomfortable with sleeping around. Some aren't. It's way more acceptable in your college years than in HS, people mature and grow up and learn to not care about what other people do with their sex life.

Nobody gets to call you a slut. But if you're feeling bad, then don't ignore it. Sex can be as harmful a drug as heroin, and it's so easy to lose control. Especially when you're young. After I was sexually assaulted I became very promiscuous too because I felt worthless and like my body and purity no longer mattered. I would suggest you please seek counseling. Talk to an older lady you trust, a teacher or an aunt and they can help you find someone. You deserve a joyful life, rich in real love.

I'm 16 and I've slept with about 8 people I think. And I was raped when I was 12-13. I'm pretty Sure your therapist is correct. You're not a slut. Nobody is a slut, to me anyway. There could be a 16 year old that's had sex with 50 people and I still wouldn't call them a slut. Slut is a stupid word and you shouldn't let anybody tell you something you're not.

I've been with 18 partners and I am 20. I was raped when I was 12. I went to therapy for a long long time and I feel that having sex for me was a way to feel loved. Now that I have been with the same guy for a year and were really serious about our relationship, he knows all about my past and says that he wouldn't change any of it because it's made me into the woman I am today. Someday someone will appreciate everything about you including all your flaws but until then, just do what you enjoy doing - SAFELY.
