Low iron?

Question

Has anyone on here had low iron? I was prescribed ferrous fumarate at around 33 weeks and now at 36/37 weeks my iron was still low so I’m going into the hospital on Tuesday morning for an iron
 infusion. Has anyone else had this done?

I honestly wish I had done it sooner! I had zero energy and was barely functioning. It’s probably something I’ll have to continue to do well after I give birth and I’m ok with that!

I have low iron but was prescribed iron pills to take as a supplement, it wasn’t low enough for iron infusions. The iron infusions you’ll get through an IV at the hospital.

I had it 4 weeks ago it’s brill but now iron is going down so need another you feel a difference literally within 24 hours gives you such an energy boost  😬

I had one done a couple of weeks before my first was born (five years ago)... lasted a good few years, tbh. My body didn’t take very well to iron supplements.
This time around my iron has been fine; up until very recently. I’ve been taking different iron supplements—but I’ve found myself chewing ice cubes again (which is a sigh of low iron, which I didn’t know until a nurse asked me “do you find yourself drinking icy drinks and eating ice cubes?” — my first was a winter baby, but didn’t think anything of it, thought maybe it was a -strange craving-) and I was hoping “maybe because it’s summer and we’ve had multiple 35+ degree Celsius days....” .... but I’m thinking I may need another iron infusion. SIGH.
