Hawaii - 5 month old - Tips?

Question

We’ll be flying to Honolulu in 2 weeks. Any tips and advice? For the flight and the trip. I’m a little nervous. 
I know to keep the baby out of the sun especially during peak hours. What about sunscreen?

I love babyganics sunscreen at that age. I know its not as cute, but get a rash guard bathing suit for sleeves and less sunscreen. Pick a hat with uv protection and a strap so they cant take it off. That age should be more exhausting for you than them on a flight. Have fun!!

The flight should be relatively easy!👌🏾 Flying with a baby has been easy for us! Our daughter is 16 months and has been on countless flights, including two international flights. Her first flight was at three months. The number one thing I recommend is purchasing a seat for your little one.👌🏾 My husband and I have always purchased a seat for our daughter. Nurse or give bottle during takeoff and landing. Pack diapers, wipes, extra clothes, blankets, toys etc in your carry-on. A carrier is convenient for maneuvering through the airport. Remember you can check the stroller and car seat (if you do not purchase a seat) in at the gate. For the beach, keep the baby out of direct sunlight. Use sunscreen!👍🏾 Purchase a beach hat and sunglasses if you do not have them already. Have something for the baby to lounge on (Dockatot, Snuggle Nest, Snuggle Me, etc.). A carrier is convenient at the beach as well. I hope this helps. Have fun, we are taking a family trip to Maui next week and we are so excited to take our daughter. We've been plenty of times, but we are excited to continue making memories with our baby girl!👌🏾

Most sunscreen (even ones made for babies) says it’s safe for 6 months and above because of the chemical they use, but if you buy an all natural one it’s fine! Or you can make your own with powdered zinc (recipes are on Pinterest). I recommend using shade more than anything - umbrella or a tent with UV protection will work great when baby isn’t in the water with you! It’s also best to have baby in a swimmer shirt and a hat 😄

Yes use sunscreen !  Always. Exspecially that young. And try to keep him/her cool not to get over heated.
