Should smoking in cars/in homes that have children in them be illegal? (question is specific to USA).

I have a good friend who smokes CONSTANTLY and does so around her kids (in her home and in the car with the windows up which is even more disgusting). 
Clearly I'm a non smoker but I really don't care what adults do to their bodies but when children are concerned, I think it's selfish. The children can't speak for themselves that their lungs are filled with disgusting second hand smoke not to mention the numerous toxic chemicals (they always smell like cigarettes too which many other people have noticed). There are more strict policies in place like this in other countries but I think that we need this to be illegal in America.

In Oregon it's already illegal to smoke in the car with kids. I am glad more places are doing this.

I think it's reasonable to not smoke in a car with children but you cannot tell someone not to smoke in their house. Mind your own damn buisness for once.. I swear sometimes people can be so nosey. Quit trying to change people's life's and stop trying to tell them what to do.

Yes. I hate when people smoke around children. That's so unfair to them and their little bodies. Honestly I wish (yes, wishful thinking) smoking could be banned period because outside of the harm it can cause to the smoker, there are people who are allergic to cigarette smoke, have asthma, etc. 
The problem with smoking is smoke travels and some folks are allergic- sure that person chooses to smoke, but not everyone around them does-so why should others (both children and adults alike) also have to inhale it and possibly suffer from it? 
And Children don't always know or have the option to leave the area of a smoker.
I think out of many bad habits, smoking is one that gets under my skin the most because the cigarette smoke seems to say: "f everybody else, I'm not gonna just stay with my smoker who chose me, I'm gonna float and mess with others who don't smoke and can't stand me, as well.”

Idk about other places but started October 1st 2015 in Missouri  it will be illegal to smoke with anyone in the car under 18

My mom refuses to stop smoking in the house and car, with me (14) and my 8 year old brother.. And I feel like I might as well start smoking myself. She goes through 1-3 packs a day and goes outside maybe like once. She always tells us not to smoke, yet she forces us to live in a breathe it in. It's not fair. Secondhand smoke is a thing, I had a teacher die even though she never touched a cigarette, but her husband did and she got lung cancer from secondhand. Of course you can't control what someone chooses to do, especially when you're my age, but for me, I think it's unfair. (On top of me having asthma. Sometimes I wake up struggling to breathe and in every breath I take in, I smell smoke)

I have a 4yo and I smoke. I don't smoke in my house at all, but I do smoke in my car with the window down. I can't Imagine smoking with the window up even if I'm the only one in the car. Judge me. I don't really care. The government won't tell me how to live my life or raise my child.

In Massachusetts smoking with anyone under the age of 18 is against the law, quite a big fine and you could do time if repeated. Smoking is disgusting. Not many people smoke now a days, they are finally realizing what happens to you!!
