12 weeks won’t eat / updated

UPDATES AT THE BOTTOM.

Good afternoon . My daughter has decided to stop eating what she was a week ago. She was eating 4-6 oz of formula approx every 3-4 hrs. Now I’m lucky if she eats an ounce or two. She will start to cry and pushes the bottle out with her tongue or swats it with her hand. I went to the pediatrician in feb for her 2 month check up and they agreed that she may have reflux. She is eating similac sensitive and has been no problem except gas.. which we were getting through. Now she will barely take the bottle at all. I’m nervous she’s been doing this now for three days. I have called before she started not eating and they said they don’t want to change anything. To keep her elevated for about a half hour after eating. We do this. But now not eating?? I’m nervous, she doesn’t feel as heavy (sounds silly). She is sleeping a lot. And while awake she is generally happy smiling even giggles until I offer her the bottle then she throws a tantrum. I know she’s hungry she acts it. But cries while she tries to eat. I’m at a loss and feel like my pediatrician just isn’t listening to me. Has this happened to any of you? Any feedback would be great! I have called the dr office and am waiting on a call back (always takes forever). Just wondering if someone has had a similar issue. I want her to be a good eater lol. I hurt so bad when she cries about it.

UPDATE 1 : I took the advice of the nipple and changed it to a #2 and within 30 min she finished 6 oz no crying no tantrum burped beautifully!! I’m so amazed I cried!! Thank you so much!! Also I downloaded the wonder weeks and yes it says she might be going through a leap! So yes! Thank you !! 💛😘 you both made me feel better!!

UPDATE 2: So she went 4 hrs... gave her the next bottle and downed it no problem. She cried a little but I think she was excited lol couldn’t get it fast enough. She burped fine no problems... I feel like I was starving her lol. It amazes me that all it took (fingers crossed 🤞) was a bigger nipple size ! In a matter of a little more than a week she went up a diaper size, clothing size and now nipple size lol. I can’t believe how fast it’s going!

Oh my you’ve literally just described EXACTLY what we are going through right now! Used to suck the bottle down super quick but now is like refusing to eat and like you said just screams and screams although she’s super hungry because I know her hungry cry and I can hear her tummy growl. It’s so hard to even get her to take 4 oz, most the time after one she’s over it. I am really hoping this is just a growth spurt. I will try the faster nipple as well and see how that goes but honestly I’m so glad I’m not the only one. She’s been taking the same formula since the day we got home and I didn’t know if it had to do with that or not. Seriously thank you, thank you, thank you!! You just made me feel 1000x better

I’m so glad the suggestion worked!!! My LO has been a little more likely to cry with feedings now that we went up a size too, from what I’ve been told it’s normal- just a little tummy ache adjusting to getting the new amount in a better period of time! You have not been starving her! Sounds like you are a great mom & very in tune with her needs! I took a bunch of classes and they never tell you what to look for when it’s time to size up on bottles!

Could it be time for a faster flow nipple? That worked for us when he started getting frustrated with the bottle!
