Do babies stay in size 12 month clothes long ??

Question

My 4 month old is already wearing size 9 month carters clothing and even 9-12 in the children’s place and other brands. 
She is 16.5 lbs and very tall and outgrowing a size 2 shoe already.
I bought a lot of 12-18 month stuff on sale thinking it would be good for spring but when I hold one of the shirts up to the carters 9 month shirts they’re the same size! 
Do babies tend to eventually even out for a bit or just keep growing .. she’s only 4 months and I cant keep up with clothes

Once they hit 9 months of age, their growth slows down a bit (so whatever size they are at that time, they’ll fit longer). Until then they usually grow like weeds and outgrow everything every few months. 
My baby started wearing 12M clothes right when she turned 9 months and wore 12M clothes for almost a whole year.

I think it just depends on the kid. My 1 1/2 year old is in 3t clothes and actually his feet are too big for 3t footed pajamas. He's grown like a weed since birth 🤷‍♀️

Depends on the kid. My first went into 12 month clothes at 6 months. He wore them for 6 months. 
My second went into 9 month at clothes at 4 months and 12-18 month at 5 months. I'm not expecting him to be in them long. A few of the shirts are already getting too small for his belly and his pants getting too tight on his waist and thighs.

My boys were in 12 month clothing from about 10-14 months. Then 18 month clothing until about 20 months.

We can't answer this for you. As the parent, you should know what your child will and will not be able to wear. Our daughter was in 9-month clothing at that age as well due to her being in the 99th percentile for height. By 6ish months, she was wearing 12-month clothing. She stayed in 12-18 month clothing for about 3ish months and then from there went into toddler sizes (2T and 3T). She's now 21 months and wears 4T.

My 12 mo old has been in 12 months since about 9 months. Some are getting a little tight but all his 18 month clothes look GIANT! So hopefully these will keep fitting a while

Every baby is different and brands seem to size different. My daughter is 9 months and I’m putting 18 month stuff on her. Most 12 months is too tight on her.
