Spitting out water everywhere 😡

My 2 yr old has access to his sippy cup all day. But recently, he would drink it but then randomly start spitting water out on his toys and floor. I have to keep taking his cup away now. Has this happened with your kid? He keeps doing it despite me slapping his hand and saying no. He usually listens but with this, he just can't.
