My lil baby girl is almost five months old now. While pregnant i had to leave my job because it was very physically demanding with no air conditioning (this was summer time) and requires dealing with physical abuse from reisdents (mental illness at its worse in the long term care.) I had my son home with me for a month before he started junior kindergarten. I had alot of braxton hicks n false labour but one night (11days before my due date) i had really big contractions. I timed them and they were 5mins apart at first but kept gettinf more intense but spread further apart. So i took a bath and relaxed and had some tea. I got 2hrs of sleep but by 2am the contractions got closer again but now 10mins apart. I called up the nurses she says to come in once they are 5mins apart (i lived 1.5hrs away from the hospital.) And during that short phone call i had 3 contractions (less then 3mins apart!) I was very confused! Convinced the hubby it was time to go in. Arrived at the hospital round 9am. Firsr nurse i had was amazing. Making sure i was comfortable, very talkative and polite. 2nd was from hell. Lazy as could be. Never checked my cervix, kept asking the dr if they were going to give me stuff to speed up the process (even though i didnt want or need anything). I walked until i got my epidural at 6cms (dr checked not my nurse). She kept conplaining about the weathe rn the car n how much it costs her to park there everyday. Contractions were gettinf worse while on epidural n she just told me to keep pushing the button so i did (gives a boost). She finally went on break and the nurse that took over relized what was going on and double checked all the wiring and then went to do a cervix check and boom! The head was right there! So she called the lazy lady back saying "your girl here is ready to push now, grab the dr on the way over." What does ms lazy say first thing? "why you doing this now woman? My food wasnt even done in the microwave yet." (Sorry im still pissed at her. Ugh.) Dr comes in at 5:40pm saying "ok i have to go do an emergency c section, so we are going to do one push to see how its going, goes good we will deliver this one first, if not then ill be right back in 20mins." One push later dr says we are delivering her now. 4 pushes later she was born :) my perfect baby girl. 7lbs 6oz. :)
