TO MY SURVIVOR SISTERS
After enduring what we have endured, it is difficult to imagine finding our place in the world. It’s difficult to associate with ones body (at least in my case this was true). It is like losing your home - a small piece of yourself.
You have survived a war. You are a solider. A survivor. You are not weak. It is not your fault. There is no one to blame but the abuser.
You are strong. You have a power in you that your abuser cannot tap into anymore.
You are free. You are beautiful.
You will heal. I promise you.
You are so much more than the abuse.
What happened does not define you. It defines a period of time but, not you.
Love, from another Survivor
