Sitter gonna quit on us

My bubba is an absolute angel when he gets watched by someone at our house. My mom, sister, and husband have all kept him many times during the day at our house. He is the best and happiest little thing. He usually will cry a little if he’s tired. On days my husband works (he does 4 on 4 off), he stays at my SIL’s house. the baby screams as loud as he can most of the day. He hardly naps and even when he does take long naps, he still cries and screams when he’s awake. My SIL said she would try one more week with him but at this point she’s going insane as she has two kids of her own to watch.

Almost all of the daycares in our area are full (like 8+ month waitlists) and at that, they are $700+ a month, which at that point it wouldn’t be worth it for me to work. I just don’t know what we’re going to do. I’ve taken some of his favorite toys, his bouncer, an exersaucer, a swing.. everything I can think of to help her, but he just cries. He was great for the first few weeks but now it’s so bad.

Do you ever go over there with baby and hang out with him there? Might help him get used to it

We went over a few times before I ever let him stay with her. After a Month though, you’d think he’d start getting used to it.

A lot of babies will do this during their 4th leap also. I stay home with our son, but during his 4th leap he would cry a lot more and even started crying when my mil would hold him.

Is she gentle with him? Babies can tell when someone is impatient or in a bad mood. Maybe she loses her temper...you never know

Ughhhh daycares by us are $2500 + for infants 😩😩😩 and the idea of baby spending 10 hours/day there is killing me!

The worst part is that it’s so hard to find a good job after you take a career break! It’s killing me. You are literally working to pay for childcare

At this point, I would be better off to stay home. But I’d have to somehow sell my car! 😭

My son is the same way, it’s the change of environment! He probably isn’t sleeping well and is extremely tired! At least that is way my son cries uncontrollably at my moms. I haven’t found a cure for it yet lol.

He doesn’t cry at our house when he’s kept by other people. He took a 3 hour nap at her house yesterday and still screamed all day. This is a kid that everyone always tells me how good and calm he is. He’s always so happy. He doesn’t cry when I send him to nursery at church nor did he cry when he spent 6 hours with my In laws at their house. I just don’t know.

The 4 month sleep regression has been similar for my son as what you just explained. He cries uncontrollably, mostly when he’s tired but he can go on for an hour before he finally falls asleep. There is no amount of holding, bouncing, rocking, etc that helps him during those times. But idk why it’s only happening outside of your house. I do hope it gets better this week.
