100% BReastfeeding, When to start food?!

5 months already! Where did the time go?! I am nursing 100% and starting to get pressure from EVERYONE to give my little one solids. It was a very rough go for the first two weeks to latch so I don’t think I’m ready to move on now. Baby is strong and healthy and I’m sure she is ready, I really wanted to try for 6 months at least, 
When did you mommas start feeding solids? What did you start with?

6 months, as per most updated and reputable recommendations. My first started at six months. My youngest will be six months in a little over a week and he will start then. I started with avocado the first time and will this time too. I do BLW.

I've been told a good indicator is when your baby can sit unassisted, it makes it easier for them to digest food because their system is more mature.
 Also is your baby interested in the food you're eating yet? Mine is going on 7 months (ebf too) and just starting to get interested in our food. We're going to start with veggies, then meat, then fruit last.

We are starting this weekend. He will be 6 months tomorrow. Don’t forget breastmilk or formula still needs to be the main source of nutrition for the first year, so you still will be able to continue your breastfeeding journey 🥰 we are going to do purées first!

My lo is 5 and a half months and we’ve tried the single grain oatmeal cereal mixed with breast milk twice. He seemed interested but hasn’t quite figured out how to keep it in his mouth but we tried last week and then again Monday. I think we’ll try again my next day off and just keep doing it like that, like once a week, until he seems to really get it. But just because you introduce solids doesn’t mean breastfeeding shouldn’t be the number one source of food for baby. Also don’t rush if you want to wait until 6 months to introduce solids that’s fine too.

I started around 4.5 months. My sons appetite is amazing he just doesn’t get full with milk anymore.  I’m even using half formula and half milk to try to fill him more...  he isn’t very interested in waiting for the spoon to eat but it’s a process.  😍

I started around 5 months bc my son was super interested. Gave him bananas and avocados and just this week started BLW (he’ll be 6mo in 4 days) so we’re giving him what we eat, mostly a meat and vegetables, tried some pasta. For the non mushy food he mostly just sucks on it and chews it around and it comes out which is normal to do at this time, just to get used to it! Still 99% of his nutrition comes from breastmilk and will for at least 3 more months, food is just fun for now.
