She finally arrived!!
This is going to be long not going to lie.
So I was 41 weeks exactly last thursday with a failed sweep previous Monday and and induction due the following Tuesday, needless to say I was starting to get depressed that she wasn't here. So Thursday morning I was up at 3am as cat had diarrhea 😫 and had bad cramping around my lower back and tightness around my lower abdomen. We had about 3 false labour trips to the hospital before so we didn't get excited. Husband went to work as I said no point hanging around to get disappointed and I had MIL on standby if I needed anything. So chilling out watching friends (the one with the birth ironically) and texts from the MIL asking if I needed anything while she was at the shops while keeping her up to date with what was now apparent contractions. The previous night I had what appeared to be a bloody show so I was constantly up and down to the toilet as well. It got to the point where my contraction app advised me to go to the hospital so rather than rush all the way in I called triage and was told my contrations where not to NHS standard 😂😂 well they were not frequent or lasting long enough to be precise, however they were concerned about reduced movements and that I was unsure if my waters had broke because there was a lot of discharge so asked me to come in. So husband came home and we picked up his mum and made our way to the hospital. Our midwife was lovely and I tried to convince her to just induce me but she said it was unlikely. So she did a sweep to check and my waters had either already broken or she broke them and I was 2 cm dilated so I would be induced YAY! unfortunately baby had pooped inside and this made them a bit concerned so the moved me to another room to get started, changed my midwife and hooked me up to monitor babies heart beat. They advised it could take 12 hours and went through the procedure. I was given gas and air (to me it was useless) and advised of other methods of pain relief however contractions still were not strong so didn't think to much about it. Baby's heartbeat was not to their liking so they tried to attach a monitor to her head while she was still inside and oh my gosh she did NOT like that. Now before this happened I was having a nice chat with my birthing partners having a laugh about how long it had taken to get here but as soon as they tried to attach the monitor it was like the blood had drained from my body and everything went hazy like I was drugged up. They told me that they wanted to get baby out and that it would have to be C section and I cried. I just kept thinking something was going to go wrong and that I wouldn't be going home with my baby but my MIL was amazing, she held my hand and told me it was all going to be alright and asked the doctors the questions I couldn't ask while my husband got geared up to go into theatre with me. After being numbed from the waste down I just looked at my husband trying not to cry while he also fought back the tears to reassure me and all of a sudden I could hear her crying and I started to cry more. She was the most beautiful baby I had ever seen and from the moment I held her my life was complete 😊😊😊❤. After begging the doctors to let me go home the following day and being given my long list of drugs and procedures, we finally went home as a family which after suffering an ectopic 2 years previous and being told we had a low percentage of conceiving naturally, was the most amazing moment of my life and I hope it gives hope to other people who also struggle to conceive.
She is perfect to me 😍😍😍
