Sometimes there's simply compatibility issues or they aren't your "one". I've had experiences where it feels way better to be that person's friend than waste their time (&my own) in a romantic relationship with them. I use the word friend lightly though, as that doesn't mean I'd talk to or hang out with them frequently. If that was the case &you wanted to, just be together

I think its all in the seriousness of the relationship, a shorter one that was leas serious yes. A marriage or long term relationship, no.
