Easy to conceive or really hard- where’s the in between?!
Hey guys. I’ve got this idea that’s become stuck in my head and I’m keen to see if anyone else feels the same, or cares to debunk it! I know scientifically this is probably wrong, but it feels to me like almost every conception story I hear is either “it happened almost immediately, we couldn’t believe it was so easy!” or “we tried and tried and tried and nothing happened naturally”.
This seems to constantly be the case with friends and fam. Also, I love listening to this fab podcast called Australian Birth Stories that interviews a wide range of everyday women and the host always asks how long it took to fall pregnant. I’ve listened to dozens and dozens of these, and honestly feel basically everyone says it happened straight away, or they end up on fertility treatments. It seems pretty rare that anyone says it took them some middle of the road time, 4,5,6,7 months to a year, for example.
I know the research says 6 months to a year is totally normal, but as I said, it just doesn’t feel to me like this really happens based on what I’m hearing!
Would love your thoughts :)
