Will Food poisoning hurt my unborn baby ?

So i’ve heard from a mother recently that having food poisoning will not hurt an unborn baby. My question is why do pregnant woman have to watch what they eat to avoid food poisoning. I know it sucks to be sick but I thought it was it could harm the baby.

It’s not just food poisoning. It’s parasites from raw/undercooked foods, bacteria, etc. some of those can be harmful. However, now a days, pregnant women don’t need to be as strict with things as they used to.

Not baby directly.. But if you ha e sever diarrhea and vomiting it can cause you to go into preterm labour... Happened to me...
