Answer: Depo Provera.  Women who use depo provera Contraceptive Injection may lose significant bone mineral density. Bone loss is greater with increasing duration of use and may not be completely reversible.

Sooo many things can lead to bone density loss. Diet is a huge part of that. Let’s not scare people off of a potential birth control method with possible reactions and symptoms. Every medication has its risks, just living has its risks.

Yep. I wasn't allowed to be on it for too long because of this and because I'm at risk of this. However the doctor did say 'It MAY be a side effect of long term use, we are not really sure'

Interesting, I didn't know that. I avoid BC entirely because women in my family have physically reacted poorly to it, so I never looked into the side effects. It was nice to learn something :D
