Weekly NST tests?

Anna&Molly

My wife went for her appointment today. Last appointment they told her they would do a NST this week. It sounded like a one time thing. She made a comment about her being slightly obese and it was a precaution. She's 5'6" and started at 195lb. Mind you, I was MUCH bigger and shorter with my boys and never did NSTs for obesity in the same office. Anyway, today she goes in and they tell her she'll be doing them weekly now, but doesn't tell her why. I can't imagine them doing it for obesity every week now when she's now that big. She did have a subchorionic hematoma in the first trimester that was downgraded to a placental lake by her anatomy scan. But they haven't mentioned it since. But she did call last week because she was losing little globs of mucus and they told her not to worry unless she was losing blood. So.. I was under the impression NSTs were done for problems or high risk, and I'm not understanding why they're doing them weekly and being nonchalant about it.
