Positive home pregnancy test?

Question

I just took a home pregnancy test, but my period isn’t supposed to start for 8 days. I have pcos and have been using leprozole for two months. 
When I took the test, I peed in a cup and held the test in for probably ten seconds even though the box indicates to hold for only five seconds. 
Could holding the test in urine too long cause a false positive?

I highly doubt that holding it for 5 more seconds would cause a false positive, but I would say to retest again just to ease your mind and be certain :) best wishes!

It’s so rare to get a false positive. Usually just from certain medications. I would recommend taking another one just to double check.

The extra urine will make an evap more noticeable... If it was read during the timeframe I would still assume it's a real positive...
