Did I play him?

I’ve been talking to this guy from tinder for almost a month and he’s super sweet. But nothing has been said about what direction we are going in (relationship or just a hook up.) I hooked up with another guy Saturday night (who I have hooked up with numerous times) and then a few days later he told me to not play him. Since he said that I feel really bad and upset. I would never have done that if we were dead-set trying for a relationship. He doesn’t know that I hooked up with the other guy.
