Yes, you read that correctly. I got pregnant while on the IUD (paragaurd specifically). The IUD is considered the best birth control, keep in mind I had only been with two people my whole life and always made sure I was on birth control. You have .1% chance of getting pregnant, I was that .1%. I was in college and the summer of my junior year going in to my senior year of college and I was getting nauseous and vomiting a lot. I actually thought I had an ulcer because I thought, “there’s no way I am pregnant I have the IUD” well there’s a way, and turns out I was very much pregnant. I went to the doctor for what I thought was an ulcer and I will never forget when she told me I was pregnant. It was honestly the worst day of my life, I always saw myself graduating, getting a stable job with benefits, and being married first before kids. The father of the baby was my boyfriend of over a year, when I told him he was nothing but supporting and loving.

This happened in July, Bella was born January 6th, fast forward to today my healthy daughter just turned 2 months, I live in a house with my fiancé. (Jake proposed at our gender reveal). I am finishing school online and my job promoted me to a comfortable lifestyle with paid maternity leave and tons of flexibility.

Goes to show that, 1. If you wanna hear God laugh tell him your plan and 2. Some situations may seem like the end of the world, but it’s not. Everything always works out.

Bella challenges me but surprises me everyday, I couldn’t see my life without her, and my amazing future husband.

Ps. Also learned a huge lesson to never underestimate the .1% chance, it could happen to anyone!!!!!!!!
