Home Doppler, how often is too often?

Question

Just want some opinions on how often people use their home Dopplers? And if they believe it does any harm to the baby? Atm I find my self using it every other day which I feel is too much 😩

I used one with my first, but only about 2 or 3 times throughout the whole pregnancy. 
It wasn't until I was in labour and they used one, that I realised I was probably hearing the placenta. I didn't know it had it's own 'heartbeat'!
I don't think I'll use one this time around.

I used it's once a night from 10 weeks until I could feel baby moving.

Most instructions say using it once a day is fine, and once you’ve actually located the heartbeat to only leave it there for a minute or two. 
Baby’s heartbeat will sound like horses racing, like their hooves/galloping. 
The placenta will sound more like a slow woop beat/almost whoosh sound

I use mine daily. My ob said it's fine.
