Anybody on antidepressants?

Question

I was on Zoloft for the first bit of my pregnancy but honestly felt it wasn’t working as well as it had been so I stopped. My depression is getting worse so I’m thinking about trying it again, but I’m paranoid about any affects to the baby. :/
Any words of advice/encouragement?

I am on Wellbutrin and Buspar. They lowered my dosage of Wellbutrin. I have PTSD with anxiety and depression from my time served in the military.

I’ve been taking Zoloft during this entire pregnancy. My doctor wanted me to take it with my last pregnancy, but I held off until he was born. When I got pregnant again, I tried to wean off...didn’t work. I see such a huge difference when I take it. I don’t take a huge dose, but I’m much more emotionally balanced this time. My doctor says it’s perfectly safe, and as much as I don’t like it, I know that it’s necessary.

This is my second pregnancy on Wellbutrin (I’ve taken it for four years now). I was taking double my current dosage with my first and was able to cut it down after he was a few months old. Recently I’ve been wanting to start the process of weaning off it completely, but my doctor said to wait until after this baby since it may be too big of a change. Plus they don’t like to mess with medications during pregnancy unless it’s necessary.
Pregnancy makes it so much harder when you struggle with mental illness, in my experience. With my first, even though I was on a pretty high dose, I really struggled at times with mood stability. I wasn’t seeing a therapist any longer by the time I got pregnant, but I think I maybe should’ve started again just for that time. At the very least I should’ve talked to my doctor, but I just tried to push through instead. It meant I was pretty miserable for the first half of my pregnancy, so now I wish I had been more proactive about things.
If your medicine isn’t proving to be enough right now, don’t feel bad for talking to your doctor about your options. They may suggest you see a therapist first before changing your dose or adding another medication, but they can help you get started. There’s no reason to suffer just because you’re pregnant, in my opinion. A happy, healthy mama is best!

I’m on Cipralex and was on it with my first too. Not sure where you live, but check out Motherrisk. They’re associated with Sick Kids hospital in Toronto and you can call and ask them about certain drugs.

My doctor prescribed me an offbrand of Prozac and I'm loving it. Helps my anxiety and depression.

I personally decided to stop my anti depressants while pregnant. It was hard but I learned to cope and get through it. I have more good days than bad I’m sure because of my hormones

I was on antidepressants and anti psychotic pre pregnancy and though I reduced as much as possible I had to stay on some. Just had my meds increased again as struggling. Got told if my mental health isn't sorted then the risk to pregnancy is higher than the risk of the meds. So taking higher dose

No sadly I feel like I need help but scared to ask... I'm mourning a loss still fresh I get angry and sad bc my mom did not tell me she was sick AND DIED ON ME and I found out through my dad so I want to get meds and feel better but yes pregnant and don't know what to do
