My little girl has been using a nipple shield to nurse since we were in the hospital. She had trouble latching in the beginning because she came out super stuffy and was struggling to breathe while eating. Once that cleared up, she nursed fine, but with a shield. We've been using it since and she is now 1 month . She also takes a bottle of my breast milk to supplement which her doctor recommended...it took her 3 weeks to,get back to birth weight, but now she's gaining and growing as she should be. Anyone else use a shield? Everything I read about them says to wean off of it...but she still eats great with it ?
