A glass of wine while breastfeeding?

So I’m a FTM my LO is a little over a week old. I turned 21 back in October but obviously wasn’t able to celebrate. I’m so back and forth on when I should have my first glass of wine. When did all of you start off with your first glass? How long did you wait and why?

You should've had it a week ago ;) you can literally nurse and have a glass at the same time. You're not taking ten shots of vodka. Your baby isn't getting drunk. They are getting next to nothing, alcohol wise, in the breast milk. I have a glass a few times a week (meaning most nights 😂)!!!

Next to no alcohol will get into your breast milk. You only shouldn’t breastfeed if you are drunk and can’t hold the baby.

I’ve had a glass several different times. I try to leave two hours for it to clear my system but that doesn’t always work out. I go by safe to drive, safe to feed.

I go by, if you're sober enough to drive you're sober enough to breastfeed but do what you're comfortable with. One glass of wine shouldn't make it into your milk.

Maybe 4 days after baby was born ... family was visiting and I had a glass. Fine to breastfeed a few hours later.

I have one glass and wait 3 hours before feeding. I make sure to pump and have some saved just in case LO needs feeding before the 3 hours

I'm still waiting I want a good 3 to 4 hours before I have to feed him and he very so much that I can't depend on having that time frame. Hoping to have a glass in the next couple weeks
