Allergies or cold?!

Alright guys....my little one is 4 1/2mo and woke up this morning all congested! I could hear it kinda coming on last night.

I’ve been trying to figure out if he’s sick or if he all of a sudden has allergies.

I had been sick for about a week and a half with a chest cold. We also have a cat.

(He has a doctors appointment on Monday for a regular check)

he has no fever whatsoever though, just a nasty sounding wet cough and some sneezing here and there. He’s been sleeping just a little more and still eats just fine and is still his happy preppy self.

I’m a first time mom so I don’t really know what allergies vs a cold look like in a child other than fever or no fever.

Anyone have a similar experience or can tell whether it’s one or the other?
