So it’s taken me a bit but I can finally post my birth story! On February 21st at 5am I was sitting on my bedroom floor organizing baby stuff and my stuff getting ready for her to come because I was 39 + 4 and due on Sunday. And while I was getting stuff organized I felt a gush of fluid. I thought it was weird I remember thinking there’s no way I peed myself I haven’t this whole pregnancy. And I kinda blew it off well this gush happened again. And I finally decided to go to the bathroom and check so while I was walking to the bathroom it happened again twice. I finally gave it and associated it to my water breaking and called my husband to get home (he was working night shift). I wasn’t feeling any contractions so I went back up stairs and continued what I was doing my husband got home and I got in the shower and eventually made my way into labor and delivery around 8 am where I waited. Contractions finally started to pick up around 11am and I was checked I was 3cm dilated. Then again checked around 8pm and I was 5cm dilated. Eventually around 9 I gave in and got the epidural and then was checked at 11pm and I was finally 10 cm dilated! But this is where it got long... so around 12-1am he nurses came in and said we were gonna start practice pushing to get ready for the doctor and we started practicing and I practiced for until 4am but her head would not come lower than my pelvis. They suggested I take a nap and wait and try again. So I took a nap and when I woke around 8am my doctor was in the room he told me that he was super uncomfortable because I had been 10cm for 8 hours so he gave me two options we could try and use the vacuum or we could opt for a c section. I asked if I could talk to my husband and discuss it and my doctor ended up having to go back to the clinic so he said he’d give me two hours. We ended up deciding to go with a c section even though that was the last thing I wanted. And I ended up taking another nap while I waited. Well it was during that nap when I started feeling major major contractions and all I wanted to do was push so I called the nurse and we started pushing. I ended up getting her head under my pelvis and you could see her head by the time the doctor came back. So he grabbed the vacuum and started to do his thing. He ended up vacuuming her 5 times and before she her shoulder got caught on my pelvis... the nurses got on my and started pushing on my pelvic bone to help her move all the while I’m still pushing. And finally after 31 hours of labor and 12 hours of being at 10cm my baby girl was finally born. Weighing in on February 22nd weighing in at 9 pounds 6 oz and we couldn’t be more in love with her 🥰❤️
